Булат Гаппоевич Газданов

Bulat Gazdanov (Russian: Булат Гаппоевич Газданов; b. 22 June 1936 p. Olginskoye, North Ossetia) is a Soviet Ossetian and Russian conductor, composer and accordionist. People's Artist of Russia (2008). He is the Artistic Director of the National Orchestra of Folk Instruments of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. After graduating from high school in 1952, he enrolled in the School of Music Ordzhonikidze, just three departments: choral conducting, dobro and oboe. In 1957 he enrolled at the State Music and Pedagogical Institute in Gnesinyh (now of RAM. Gnesinyh). In 1959 he joined the orchestra of the Radio SOASSR, while in Ossetian theater. Today Bulat Gazdanov is known in South Ossetia as an unsurpassed accordionist and talented composer. For more than thirty years he has been the artistic director and conductor of the orchestra of folk instruments TV company "Alania". At the same time he has been performing, accompanist, composer, research and teaching activities. He is a connoisseur and collector of national Ossetian folk music. He is the author of the textbook "School for the Ossetian harmonica for 1 - 2 classes of music school" and the School for the Ossetian harmonica for 3 - 5 classes of music schools, "Playbook for Ossetian harmonics."
