The Last Days

The Last Days is an ambient post-metal band founded on the fall of 2008 as an ambient black metal solo project by S.A.D. Though, for some unknown reason and, in an attempt to find some members, the Last Days was put on hold for one year. Nonetheless in 2009, D. from the US decided to join in on guitar duty. Heavily influenced by depressive black metal, the Last Days had its first genre change but, after some recordings, S.A.D. put the project on hold again for personal reasons. By the end of 2009, in a try to rescue a possible split-up, B. Carolino, from Brazil, came on board as the second guitarist and drummer. Later, having been influenced by artists such as Mono, Lush, Amesoeurs, Rosetta and Altar of Plagues, the Last Days started to build its sound into something between the likes of post-rock, shoegaze and black metal. The band's current status remains unknown. Last known line up: S.A.D. – vocals, lyrics and artwork B. Carolino – all other instruments Jelena – session vocals The Last Days (2) is a Jesus Rock band that seemed to record one album in 1972. This the kind of acid causality Jesus Rock of the early 70's where the musicians maybe don't get high anymore but it seems like the damage is done. The lyrics are depressing and sad. The turning to Jesus seems like the desperate last cry of the suicidal. It's so pathetic, it's kinda funny. The singing and musicianship give you feel that pretty much anyone can make a record :). I like that you're never quite sure if the whole thing is real or just a joke. https://www.discogs.com/release/12760443-The-Last-Days-Last-Days The Last Day is a different Jesus Rock band of the same era but with a different sound. This one is more polished, like a pretty good 70's rock record with saxophone with some pretty nice West Coast psych touches. (and some cringy jazz moments) . It's professionalism makes it somewhat less appealing than the pathetic pathos of The Last Days. Ironic fans of 70's burnout Jesus freaks will like both, but The Last Days is pretty epically messed up. Read more on Last.fm.
