Tracks including the funky dancefloor groove ‘Messing’, through to intelligent Jazz outing ‘Music Is The Key’ and the soul drenched ‘Jealous Eyes’ are testament to Sarah’s ability to effortlessly genre cross. Collaborations on the album include some top dogs from the international producer arena. These include Colin Emmanuel (De La Soul, Beverley Knight) on the nu-jazz groove ‘Breathe’; James Yarde (Terri Walker, LL Cool J) on the boom-clack urban grind of ‘If She Breaks Your Heart’ and the classy latin tinged soul ballad ‘Everytime’; Myx Quest ( Solange, Bashy) on the positive vibes of ‘Getaway’; Self Taught (TY, Cheryl Cole) on the brash attack on a devil woman, ‘B.I.S.Y (Man Teef)’; and A.C Layne (Phil Asher, Miles Bunny) on ‘Follow Your Dreams (Believe)’. All in all ‘Debut’ is an honest and beautifully penned collection of both personal and emotionally driven songs. “Im always being inspired by new music, people and life, Im a fan of real honest music in whatever genre, none of this happy clappy shallow shit...” voices Sarah. “Debut’ talks about my life and some of the things that I still have to experience, Im not into watering things down, Im gonna always keep it real”. Having always loved music as a child, Sarah is classically trained in Piano and Classical singing, dabbles in violin and is now taking guitar lessons. Sarah’s Musical influences are somewhat extensive ranging from classical masters such as Debussy, and Beethoven to soulful and jazz legends J Dilla, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and even Nirvana! “Nothing wrong with a big of Britney either!
