Richel Bilderbeek

Richèl Bilderbeek is an artist born in Milsbeek, The Netherlands at the 2nd September of 1980. In 2000 he formed a band with Geert van den Bogaart. First this band was called 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek & Bogaart Trio' and evolved via 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek & Bogaart Bogaart Kwartet' to 'Het Bilderbeek Bilderbeek and Bogaart Bogaart Quartet'. The band's philosophy was to produce simple absurdistic songs. Richèl Bilderbeek went solo in the year 2001 while living in Groningen. In the following years Richèl Bilderbeek builds up a repetoire. In 2004 the album 'Dingen voor 2004'. This CD's title has a double meaning: 'Stuff from before 2004' and 'Stuff for 2004'. 'Dingen voor 2004' was a very low-quality recording, but nevertheless the fans listened to it with much pleasure. His small but devoted fanbase stimulated Richèl Bilderbeek to re-record his tracks and released 'Richèldingen'. In 2005 Richèl released a German CD called 'Fuer dir, O liebe Fan' ('For you, O, sweet fan'), due a half-year tour in Germany. At the 10th of November 2005 the release 'De Wereld Rond' ('Around the world') contained a few re-recordings of older songs, as well as some songs written in Bristol, England. At the 20th January 2007 his latest CD '5 Jaar Richèl' ('Five years of Richèl'). This CD contained many re-recordings of previous songs and did not contain songs incompatible with Richèl Bilderbeek's current philosophy. Richèl Bilderbeek still performs, primarily focusing on the people of Groningen, The Netherlands.
