RedWolf

Redwolf is the handle for the songwriter and guitarist of Christchurch-based rock group Alternative Aspect. This page was created to give people (including the band) a taste of what he has to offer. The music on this page was created electronically using music development software. Influences include Muse, Blind Guardian, Metallica, In Flames, Iron Maiden, among others. Redwolf originally began in early 2008. After the acquisition of composition software the artist started writing music of a general rock persuasion, mostly in the key of C Major, in 4/4 time and at speeds of either 120 or 160 beats per minute. This relatively simple composition scheme eventually grew into a much more complex system, involving different keys, tempos, time signatures and usages of advanced concepts such as polymodal chromaticism and the pitch axis theory. After only a short time, Redwolf's compositions have evolved from simple power chord progressions and melodies into technically demanding pieces. The music of Redwolf varies significantly, ranging from progressive jazz-rock operas (such as 'Into the Hyacinth Garden') to fast-paced power metal (e.g. 'Antithesis'). With recording currently out of the question, his compositions will (for now) continue to be programmed electronically. In his spare time, the artist behind Redwolf enjoys playing guitar and bass, writing more music, listening to music, learning more musical theory and doing other stuff that isn't related to music.
