Như Quỳnh

Như Quỳnh (born Lê Lâm Quỳnh Như, September 9, 1970) is a world renowned contemporary Vietnamese folk singer. She is one of the most popular singers in the Vietnamese music industry to grace the US today, starring in Paris By Night and Asia Entertainment. Her debut album, Chuyen Hoa Sim, under the record label, Asia Entertainment, is her highest grossing, and her most acclaimed work as an artist, influences usually surrounding classical Vietnamese folklore, singing about love, war and peace; about heartache, nationality and the world. Như Quỳnh's popularity places her on top of the Vietnamese music industry, which has set her apart from many of her formal, Vietnamese contemporaries, jumping from one record label to another since her worldwide debut in 1996 with Thúy Nga. Today, Như Quỳnh still sings Vietnamese folklore, and in recent years sees her branching out to other music genres, singing, acting and modeling. She has her own record label, NQ Entertainment. She is one of few Vietnamese stars with her own record label with more than 25 solo, duets and compilation album releases spanning her entire music career. Như Quỳnh is widely considered a valuable part of Vietnamese culture and history. She gained a (mainly Vietnamese) fan base in the US with her beautiful, soft vocals, occasionally touring with a band; she is considered a celebrity worldwide. Unfortunately, she has never visited her home country, Vietnam, largely because of the Communist grip on social media, and their exclusive band on all persons, music, film and merchandise under Asia Entertainment.
