Minyeshu

Minyeshu Kifle was born in the city of Dire-Dawa, the most influential city of Harare- Ethiopia’s eastern province. She started singing and dancing at in the National Theatre of Ethiopia which is located at the capital city (Addis Ababa). Currently, she lives in the Netherlands. With the accompaniment of the band Chewata, thus far she made two albums: 'Meba' (2002), and Dire Dawa (2008). In her works, she reflected the musical diversity of Ethiopia. Most of her songs however, were played in Amharic – the working language of Ethiopia. Minyeshu brings Ethiopian melody with contemporary arrangements. Hence, generates admirers back in Ethiopia and in the west- in particular in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. From her second album the track ‘ wosenku’ and from her first album ‘tayegn girgeru’ have been the most played and loved songs by Holland’s FM radio stations. Read more on Last.fm.
