Gotcha!

There are at least two groups called Gotcha!: 1. a P-funk band from Haarlem, The Netherlands 2. an a-cappella 'barbershop group' from the United States 1. Gotcha!, the Dutch P-funk group, gained some prominence in the Dutch scene when their track, Words And Music From Da Lowlands was included on the now legendary 'Ein Abend In Wien' CD sampler (1991). Words And Music From Da Lowlands was also the name of breakthrough album, which is generally regarded as their début album proper (after a self-released LP in 1986 and a cassette album in 1989). Heavily inspired by George Clinton, the band befriended the P-Funk legend, frequently joined him on stage whenever he played The Netherlands. Clinton thanked Gotcha! by guest-appearing on their album. In 1992 and 1993 Gotcha! is one of Holland's most popular live acts, they get to tour internationally and their second album, Gotcha! Gotcha! is met with critical praise, but it goes horribly wrong during a festival gig in France, where growing tensions within the band lead to a fist-fight on stage. Gotcha! split up almost immediately, but new Gotcha! incarnations (featuring vocalists Rockattack Ten and/or I-Repeat, but not their old partner-in-crime, Robadope Ro) keep popping up every once in a while. Studio albums: Four: It's The Terra P-funk From Beyond Space (1995), 5.259551/2200 (2002) and Back To The Moon (2015). 2.
