Farah Loux

It's not often you find a band that includes all sections of a classical orchestra, but New Zealand alt-folk band Farah Loux (formerly known as Alaska) have it covered with just six members. Using a range of unconventional instruments (including harp and Peruvian clarinet) they write and execute unique arrangements that add honesty to their songs and emotional clarity to their lyrics. With influence ranging from Arcade Fire and Radiohead to Chopin, the creative sound that Farah Loux brings is "atmospherically gorgeous and utterly sincere" (Metro Magazine). Formed in 2009 under the name Alaska, Farah Loux have been playing around New Zealand working on their craft and enjoying the music they make. As Alaska, Farah Loux released a debut 7-track EP (no longer available) in 2009 before spending the next few years recording their first album, Flaws, released in 2012. Farah Loux consist of Christian Brenndorfer-Zucchiatti (now performing as C. Zukey), Alice Crowe, Nikolai Santamaria, John Bristow, Romelli Rodriguez, and Johnny Brock. Read more on Last.fm.
