Ensemble Cantilena Antiqua, which was founded by Stefano Albarello in Bologna (Italy) in 1987, consists of musicians who specialize in performing both sacred and profane repertories of the Middle Age and the Renaissance. ECA tend to play copies of historical instruments, which vary according to the exact period taken of the music, and include lutes of varying size, flutes, bombardes, hurdy-gurdy, symphonia, fiddles, percussions, viols.
