The Unitaskers is an exclusive Alton Brown fanclub and dog meme Facebook group based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Quirky, irreverent and extremely online, the band’s music has been described as “dad-rock-by-proxy”, “post-post”, and “Talking Heads if David Byrne said ‘ope’ a lot.”
Formed in 2016, The Unitaskers released their debut single “Tide Pods/Chicken Sashimi” in 2018 and immediately became one of Milwaukee’s most buzzed about acts. Despite their prominent social footprint the band’s music has often been elusive, relegated to intimate and sparingly played shows within city limits.
In 2020, the band recorded their first studio EP, “The Last Pillar of Light”. Engineered at Milwaukee’s own Silver City Studios by Andrew Jambura [Sat. Nite Duets] and self-produced, this EP showcases the band’s sound at its most collaborative, with each member taking lead creative ownership of one of the release’s 5 tracks. Drawing from current events and various indie genres, “The Last Pillar of Light” is a noisy musing on the anxiety inherent in the often apocalyptic nature of modern life.
The Unitaskers consists of Dylan Thomas (Vocals/Guitar), Joey B (Synths), Andy de Junco (Drums), Ian York (Bass), and Keegan Phillips (Guitar). Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
